replacing water pump 5K SQ

It's very doable by the home mechanic. It's typically done every 60k as
timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and (sometimes) crankshaft oil seal.
That last item turned out to be a real pain in my case.

The Bentley manual, Scott Mockry's web site (www.sjmautotechnik.com),
and some good but probably elusive write-ups in the archive explain the
process well. You do need two (?) special tools, though there are ways
around them.
