Amen to that!
People wonder why my wife and son drive in a separate car to cruise-ins I
attend in the '62 DKW:
Ummm...no seat belts...."padded dash" = a layer of vinyl......forward
folding front seats restrained by small spring loaded hooks......unpadded
steel A,B,C pillars.....crash energy transmitting steel frame.......etc.
etc.
(Of course, being a DKW, she leads the procession, or follows with the vents
on "Recirculate")
It sounds like Joe Buyer needed an excuse to back out - and is using his
wife to be "the meanie who won't let me have the car I want". If he wants a
car built to today's safety standards, he has to buy a car that's built
today, and pay with tomorrow's money. (and drive it off the lot, losing a
chunk of the sticker price but still paying for it - it's the most expensive
100 feet a new car owner will drive) Maybe they were watching 60 Minutes
reruns.........
Ben, if you held the car for the guy, maybe you should ask for a deposit
next time.
Cheers!
