We didn't get to see Mike's attached graph, but I expect his power
and/or torque peaks were at higher engine speeds than yours?
IIRC, power is just torque times speed, once you straighten out the units.
An engine with a very low RPM torque peak (e.g. a diesel) thus has
relatively low peak horsepower, while an engine that manages to produce
its peak torque up at high speed (e.g. Honda S2000, I bet) scores high
peak horsepower.
I think it's a little funny that both measures are frequently shown on
graphs, when they're so closely related. Kinda like showing one curve
and its integral, I guess.
