Battery maintainer

It's kind of funny you mention that.  The Army
installed those on all the Hummers in the fleet this
year.  The idea is not to "jump start" them or even
fully charge the battery, only to "maintain" a
reasonable level of charge during long periods of no
use or on the shorter term when the radio or dash
lights are left on.  Working well for us so far in
"sunny" NE Pa.  We've tracked much less battery
failure/replacements this year.  They just epoxied
them right on the fiberglass hoods.  Not very elegant.
