EEEWWWWWW! I used an ORANGE filter ONCE. OWWWW!
God, I really didn't know how much those things suck.
THEY tell you how awesome they are, but. My lifters
rattled like the car was going to break apart. I only
used 1 Orange filter, for about 20 miles. Really. It
was SO bad I thought I broke something in the engine.
I've also heard Green and White filters also suck.
YEMV. I wouldn't use anything not made in Germany now
that AC cheaped out on their filters for who knows
why. Mann or Audi branded are the sh*t. Kris at
VMAutohaus sends me Audi branded filters in the
original box for very cheap. But if you're in the
states, they don't come tomorrow. That's the only
rub. But.... You know you'll be changing your oil so.
Also, I bought the Mann 715/? in bulk several yrs.
ago. 10 filters for under $2.50 per. Just used the
last one a few months ago with the free Audi filters
Kris threw in along the way. I've noticed no
difference in either oil cleanliness, longevity or
breakdown with either the Audi branded or Mann 715/4?
filters.
