Squeaky Steering Wheel (steering wheel that is...)

I guess I should elaborate a little... it's the steering wheel, which
squeals when cold. It was 3 degrees F this morning, but you can reliable
predict squeaky behavior when the car is abour 20 F or colder.

Before I go and spray some WD40 down there, I thought I should check to see
what others have tried...
