No, that's exactly my point- it is significantly _less_ likely that you
will lock up all 4; it's simply more difficult to do. I agree that locking
up all 4 would be more dangerous than just losing one corner, but the fact
is that with the diffs locked up hard you'll really have to work to get that
to occur. As ever, technology is no replacement for proper technique but
even if I go out and am ham-footed on the brakes _on purpose_ I get better
braking in the snow and slush with the diffs locked that with them open
(4kq, manual difflocks center and rear, good Blizzaks).
Maybe those urging caution drive harder than I do- if there's snow on the
ground I'm locked up and I've never had any unfortunate 'consequences' which
have made me wish for more 'practice' (but that doesn't stop me from wanting
to 'practice' every chance I get ;) )
