I've seen this on aircraft engine crankcases - reconditioned really well,
line bored, magnafluxed, the works (like $500+ for an itty bitty four
cylinder case - and that is a CHEAP one), signed off by the certified
maintenance facility as airworthy, FAA yellow tag and all - and you can eat
off it, right out of the box . . .
Except they left off three or four little brass oil gallery plugs - dime
items at the hardware store, $35+ each from Continental for the identical
(but legal) part.
"Where are the oil gallery plugs?"
"Oh we never return them" (Or the $95 crankcase breather elbow, either.)
And on another subject, since no one seems to want to BUY the four snow
wheels I have, even for a lowly $100, I guess what I ought to do is offer
them for trade . . . Audi 5000 parts (maybe), could use a 500mhz+
motherboard, CPU and RAM, airplane stuff, firearms, whaddaya got lying
around that might interest me?
Best Regards,
