Just a note to thank the list for the help in fixing my 90Q shifter. I
bought the suggested part from the suggested vendor:

http://www.thepartsconnection.com

It arrived quickly and was easy to install. I replaced the shifter
support, which is the socket part of the ball-and-socket joint on the
shifter. I was able to do this without removing the console, but I did
have to lever it away from the front fastener a little bit. One problem I
had, was that I did not realize there was a spring loaded plastic pin in
the shifter assembly, which shoot out when I removed the ball joint
assembly. I was able to find the parts and cram them back in during
reassembly. It's nice to be able to find second now without having to
hunt around for it!

I also got a new Multifunction temp sender/switch, I will have to give
that a go one of these days.

My other issues right now are:

No heat to the floor (feels like the floor/defrost selector cable is
disconnected at the flap under the dash.)

No power to the antenna amplifier and thus no AM reception.

But hey, I can shift gears!
Thanks again,
-Joel.
