4kq engine/clutch noises help needed

sure sounds like knocking, which I guess would be nice to fix, but then
again you shouldn't be letting the rpms drop like that when you are
taking off anyway, right?

Although, on my coupe (and my 90, too?) the water pumps is noisy at idle
and not above, so maybe your water pump is just noisy below idle.

I still think it's your engine knocking when you lug it like that.
