help! type44 squirrly on the road with front snow tires

Of course it will be squirrely, the tires are probably quite different
in construction so that one will lean more with a certain amount of
lateral force than the other one will. Makes for weird transitions,
coupled with the probably looseness of a typical type 44 suspension it
may be very noticeable.
Also, depending on the weather, one end will always have more grip
than the other, you'll be spinning out on turns in the snow and
understeering when it's drier.
While you can get by with only 2 snows, it's not a good idea.
