URQ clock

A few weeks ago the clock in my 83 URQ stopped working. Not that big a deal but I have never seen an Audi clock that didn't work.
This weekend I took the pod out and replaced it with one from a spare gauge pod. It still doesn't work. The circuit membrane appears to be in good shape and the rest of the gauge binnacle works fine. I haven't put 12V to check it yet (do that tonight), but I doubt they are both bad.
Any other ideas?
