A couple quick questions...

I just bought a 1998 Audi A6 Quattro Avant for my Wife and so far she really
likes it but I have noticed that the 16" wheels that came with it are very
chewed up from the previous owner doing Rockwell hardness tests against
curbs and other inanimate objects. I am also starting to think that one of
the wheels is slightly bent. This along with the dubious quality "viper"
brand tires that came on it doesn't exactly leave me in a very happy place.
I'd like to know if I can fit 17 X 8" wheels on this car and what kind of
offset or other issues might I have to contend with?
Another question is about lighting. I noticed that the lower front intake on
the lower part of the front bumper has a pop-out on both sides and they look
like they could be covers for an optional true fog light set offered on a
car with a higher option package or for another market all-together. This
interests me as she is forced to drive a very dark two lane country highway
twice daily for nearly thirty miles of her commute and I'd like to have her
able to find her way through the soup if necessary.
Can anyone recommend another Audi radio head unit for this car that has a
single CD player in the unit that will control a CD changer as well?
Cassette tape support is not necessary and I can't even find one around the
house to see if the tape player in her new car even works. ;-)
And lastly about the flip keys with the remote keyless entry. This car
didn't come with them but I am assured by an Audi savvy friend that the car
does support them but they are big bucks at the dealership. I have seen a
few on ePay and was curious as to if anyone could point me in the right
direction as far as part numbers go. If I can go this route how painful is
it to get these flip key remotes re-keyed and re-programmed?
Best wishes,
Gary
