Running again! (was: '86 4kq back to no start)

I think maybe the cold start valve was not connected all the way.
=Pilot Error!
Makes me think of a funny post I read once on the Miata list:
"Not only is my mechanic an idiot, he's sleeping with my girlfriend!"
I'd like to say that if it screws with me again it's history, but I like it
too much.
Regarding the clapped out-ness of it: I bought it with 195k, up to 207.
Paid $1000. It's rusty. The rear door handles are a shambles. 75% of the
windows work. Heat is iffy. Rear diff drain plug frozen and stripped.
Leaks. Tranny leaks. Engine oil leaks a bit. Trunk leaks like mad.
Coolant leak. Tailights are a mess, plate lights don't work at all.
Exhaust leak. Very loud 'custom' exhaust. Makes a variety of weird sounds-
the moaning sound at 3k rpm is one of my favorites.
Having said that, it's one of the best cars I've ever owned. I've got a
currently not-really-drivable '87 4kcsq with 67k on it (nearly rust free) to
take it's place after the '86 is retired, though, and I'll put that in play
next summer. The '86 might still have some life left, but after this winter
it'll be worth more to me as parts.
I was wondering too about getting the fuel distributors rebuilt. What
goes bad? Rebuilt units sure are spendy...
