How to change seat belts on '87 5000?

Hi there,
I just bought a user Audi 5000. The front seet belts are scary - the one on
the passenger side even has several cuts ~ 1/2" deep! I have ordered new
belts from an Audi dealer, but have no idea how to install them. There is
nothing in the Haynes manual on removing the central post trim, etc. Can
anyone please help me?
