Need help on '90 200 instrument cluster lights

Yes, about this.  I remember seeing something about
how the op "control unit?" or sender is related to the
exciter wire?  Can anyone elaborate further?

Huw, you say the op control unit could be buzzing?
What op control unit?  Clearly I'm missing something
here, I'm only aware the op sender(s) and oil pump.
