Could you thread the 5mm pin and fit an extension on it that is threaded
(inside-diameter) ? Or just slip on an unthreaded cap with a film of
hi-temp epoxy on it, and push the cap on until the total length is again
12mm long. Once the hi-temp epoxy sets up, it won't move.
