Did you get a chance to check out that list of previously declared eligible
vehicles? Yours might slip in under that disguise.

There are some A6's listed by the NHTSA as eligible.

One such vehicle is the Audi A6 years 1998 - 1999.

It's VSP number is 332

"VSP" eligibility numbers are assigned to vehicles that are decided to be
eligible under 49 U.S.C. § 30141(a)(1)(A), based on a petition from a
manufacturer or registered importer which establishes that a substantially
similar U.S.-certified vehicle exists.

Each vehicle on the list is preceded by a vehicle eligibility number. The
importer of a vehicle admissible under any eligibility decision must write
that number on the Form HS-7 accompanying entry to indicate that the
vehicle is eligible for importation.

Take the time to visit each of these web sites before proceeding further:

You should contact a Registered Importer at some point after examining
these web sites.
The list of RI is on one of those sites.
