Anyone using Khumo ECSTA supra 712s on type 44

Well,
215/55R16 SP9k on A6 6-spoke wheels (same dimensionally as the A4
wheels,
16x7, ET45) would not clear- the tires hit the tie rod ends. This is on
an
'86 5ktq.

... I was worried about going from 215 to 225 section tires on Fuchs the
ury ... the 215s seemed so close already ... but I found there still was
plenty of clearance afterward ... and I've never seen any signs of
rubbing on the tie rod end. If you think about it you're only talking
about 0.15 inch wider on each side of the wheel ... watch carefully, and
if you see interference then you could try the spacers ...
Wait a minute ... I've got 205/55-16s on the A4 5-spokes on my '88 Avant
... SP8000s ... same tires. There seems to be plenty of room for a
little wider tire up there on mine. Funny, seems to me the tread width
on the two tires should be the same ... 205mm ... perhaps there may be a
bit more sidewall bulge or something ... but there's plenty of room
between the strut and the tire in that area ...
