grrr...type 44 volt jolt

[Check to make sure the belts are VERY tight...on the type 44 they are
notorious for slipping.]
Let's change VERY to ADEQUATELY like half inch defletion using moderate
force. It is far better to have a little slop and squeak than to
overtighten and wear out the bearings - this applies to all belts on all
cars AFAIK. If the belt seems tight and still get the occasional squeek,
try to fix with belt dressing spray before using 2 grunts of Huw force to
tighten.
[..voltmeter/multimeter, make sure you have at least 12.7 vdc at the
battery terminals with the car
running. Optimal should be 13.0 to 13.5 volts DC, but you can make do with
a slightly lower reading.]
I thought, A properly charging system on good battery with no load should
read around 14.5Volts. Anything less and either your alternator is not
putting out, or your battery is marginal.
Not proposing to be an expert, so please correct me if I am wrong.
