Audi V6 engine question

The VR6, and the Audi 2.8 V6 are completely different engines.
Supposedly the R in the VR6 means narrow angle or something like that. The
regular V6 in the Audi is a typical two banks of 3 cylinders separated by
the usual number of degrees ( I think it's 45). The VR6 is only 15 deg.
The VR6 is combined with a second engine to make the W12 prototype. If you
know the look of a typical engine the VR6 block is actually only one wide
bank where one side is staggered from the other bank but all in one block.
