I'm using 205/55-16s on my '89 200Q. Clearance is VERY tight, about a
credit card's thickness at the steering knuckle, however no rubbing. Rims
are A4 5 spoke (i.e. 45 mm offset). Rear clearance is about 8mm. Tires
are quiet good for the price and comparable to the SP8000's performance
(if not quite at that level, imperceptably close). The only problem I've
noted is that clearances for 100/200s don't always seem exactly the same
for 5K's (anyone know why?). I'd also say have the possibility of spacers
in mind when going with this combination, high quality H&R spacers are
readily availible from TireRack.
