Well when the Allroad came back with it's new transmission a month ago
thing were not all that cheeky with the clutch pedal. Above 3k rpm it
vibrated and pulsated. I figured it was a clutch issue since it varied with
rpm out of gear and in gear. The car went back to Inksip in RI and they
delivered a rental car to mum. After a few days the service tech calls and
says it was a driveshaft issue. They have fixed it and the car is ready to
come home. A meeting is planned halfway from home to RI to exchange the
rental for the Allroad. The service tech gets an hour down the highway and
takes it to 80mph, all hell breaks loose, vibration station. So mum waits
and waits and waits, but no car. So she digs out the cell phone and calls
the service tech on his cell as he is driving it back to the dealership. He
explains about the vibration and says it's gotta go back in, he's po'd at
the service department because he spent half a day driving the car around
only to find it was vibrating severely above 80mph.
So it's back waiting for a new center driveshaft. Mum contacted AoA
with the service tech on a three way call. Everything has been noted by the
tech and mum to AoA, plus she has talked to a friend in RI that is a lawyer.
The lawyer is looking up lemon law procedures for mum in the case that one
more thing goes wrong. Ah the van Gerbig car curse...
Cheers,
