Are we talking about the speedometer sensor circuit? I haven't looked
at the actual parts, but this is what I gather from the Bentley. For
86-88 turbos this goes to position 5 of the 14 point connector on the
intrument printed circuit. In 86 it was a yellow wire, on 87+88 there
should be a pair of Y/BK wires at this position. From there you'll
have to trace it through the printed circuit to the speedo.

The printed circuit has two 14 point connectors in the turbos. "14"
has a yellow band and is on the driver's side, and "14a" has a white
band on the passenger side. Looking at the connectors from the side
with the wires (front of the car, I think) they are both numbered
from right to left (so that would be drivers side to passenger side).

Other useful connections (I think...this wiring diagram is a pain).
You'll have to trace these around the printed circuit to see where
they go into the speedo.
14/7: ground
14/12: +12 volts
14/11: goes to the voltage stabilizer and the speedo (and other places)

A fifth connection on the speedo appear to run to the board computer
without leaving the printed circuit.

Confused yet? I am.
