I have actually had great results using epoxy for motor mounts. Last spring
when I was building the Turbo-Greasecar (vegetable oil turbo racecar) It was
about 8pm when we realized our donor motor (the race motor wasn't finished) had
spun a motor mount, tearing all of the rubber inside.
We went to home depot and bought 3 tubes of "metal" epoxy and filled a
spraypaint can cap with it, we had a sleeve in the middle for the bolt, and we
used tiny brass washers as filler. After it was dry, we pressed the whole
thing into the mounting hole. The motor was bolted up and the thing works
great! We drove all the way to Mt. Washington this way. I don't think that I
am going to fix it when the new motor goes in either.
Just don't tell, ok?
