the newest car i owned was a '95 passat glx (didnt own it for long, the auto
tranny started to go) but currently my newest car (and only audi) is my 86
5kT.. i have put alot of $ into this, but its great, handles like a new car,
insurance is DIRT cheap, has almost as many options as a new A4, performs
just as well as a new A4, and there is no car payments .. it just turned
125k mi, and i drove it all the way from philly to Miami and back over the
holidays without any problems at all. IMO, nothing feels like the type44T...
the way it handles is so solid.. i guess i am just biased, i have been
driving a type44T for the past 13 years... :<) what kills the older audis is
their resale value.. they have no resale value, therefore they get sold
really cheap to people who dont want to put any money into them, and they
just get driven into the ground.. thats why its hard to find an older audi in
good shape. (usually).. anyway, i dont think i will ever buy a new car
in my life.. I really like the V8's but the maintenance costs scare me off..
