in my experience, if you pot the heck out of something, you always end
up having to take it apart or scavenge it for parts, and you can't.  So
I don't do it anymore...

Try giving it a slightly cushioned mounting instead, the way the
radiator, fuel pump, and window regs are set up, instead.  Just mounting
it with some thick foam double sided tape would probably work fine, too.
