My rescue ride seemed to take it all well (it was a 12 hour round trip drive
for him) and he is doing it again tomorrow (Saturday) to take me back there
and fix the car.  (I'll let him post his own opinions) Personally, and I
have been told this by others, I am an "adventurer" and stuff like this only
serves to enrich my life through experience.  As much as I appreciate a
trouble free long distance trip, I can feel the adrenaline start to flow
when something goes wrong.  Cheaper than drugs!

In one sense though, I was very lucky.  I don't want to give the impression
that we are all back country folks here, but the geography of the Bella
Coola area is quite unique.  Bella Coola itself is on the west coast of BC
and typically rainy.  Winter temps hover around freezing for the most part.
This is where I broke down.  If I had made it another 30 kms or so, I would
have climbed the 18% grade mountain out of the valley and been in about 3-4
feet of snow and -10 C temps.  The cost for the tow ride probably would have
tripled as well.
