v8 lighting issue/ audio - Audi Harness???

tomorrow i am going to take the multimeter to the door switches to see if i
can locate this grounding problem.

today i took the car to Tweeeter to have them look at the audio system and
give me a clue of what this open din plug is doing - hanging below the rear
left speaker.

what came out is that aside from the installation of the head unit -
everything is first rate and the sony components are valued at $2500. some
of them are fairly recent.

as far as the lone din connector, they said this is an audi harness - but
it's not connected to anything.  they wondered if it had anything to do with
the previous audi/bose system.

does any know what this audi din harness would be for.  it is a female
connector with 4 blade looking receivers in the end.  there are 4 wires
connected to it brown, green,red and brown.
