Listers,

After having spent the whole afternoon on my neighbour's car today, we've
figured that his caliper problem (we thought he had a sticky caliper) was
actually an ABS problem...there is no brake fluid coming out of the LF
brake line and hose...I first thought that I hadn't rebuilt the G60
correctly and that it didn't allow the fluid to pass through, but after
removing the brake hose from the caliper, we saw that there was no fluid
pouring out of it...after disconnecting the line from the ABS unit, there
was indeed some fluid coming out of it...I then disconnected the brake MC
to ABS unit line and blew through it with the LF hose disconnected from the
caliper and the RF bleed nipple closed...nada, nichts, nothing! I then
opened the RF caliper bleeder nipple and fluid started coming out...WTF? I
think that the LF ABS solenoid that's inside the ABS unit (if what I
understood of ABS systems is correct) is dead in the "closed"
position...there is no way to have fluid come out of the ABS unit itself
from the LF output...
Anyone has any advice about what we could do to solve this (besides
ditching the ABS, it'd be better if the car remained in a "fully original
state"! :-> )? Are those solenoids repairable? If not we'll just replace
the unit but if we could repair it it'd be better and cheaper (though I
dunno the price of such a solenoid, must be mucho expensivo if not
unobtainium at all, huh?)

Thanks a lot in advance,

Regards from Belgium,

Mihnea
