more bass in the car will make more bass for the driver, it's probably
not going to disappear somewhere betweent he back of the car and the
front.  However, mounting *anything* in that cardboard shelf is a waste
of time and money.  You need to do something so the speakers have a
solid mounting or they'll just waste energy vibrating the panel.
