transmition lub?

I have the 016 transmition in my 87 4kcsq

I have experienced easier shifting when the car is
cold (especially in cold weather).
However as soon as the car is warmed up, the trans. is
back to it's stubborn old self.
There is no problem shifting at all, it is just the
fact that the trans shifts a lot smoother when cold.

Could a transmition lubrication change restore the
trans. shifting back to its smoother cold self?

106k mi, and who knows if the trans lub has been ever
changed.
