98 a4 avant 2.8 30v w/ tip won't start- HELP!!!!

Do you have a VAG?
These engines have been known for carbon buildup and not firing when an
extreme amount of carbon is in there.  A fuel system flush with BG 44K and
sometimes even more extensive products is recommended.  There is a TSB on
this.
Could also be a bad engine temp sensor...I've seen those before.
