Nice Javad,
For years most turbo discussion here has focused on getting air
into the engine without regard to getting it back out save a
fancy SS exhaust system. You correctly point out that high boost
can be detrimental to producing power (intake heat aside) by
creating so much backpressure that flow is impeded through the
motor.
Brandon, It isn't just the IC, think Volumetric efficiency (VE).
First decide what your goals are, how much torque you want (need)
and most important, where in the rpm range do you want that
torque. The time honored tradition is to recommend reading
Bell's (no relation) "Maximum Boost" then re-read and do the
calculations until you have a thorough understanding. VE is
dictated in part by port (int. and exh.) size, shape and length,
valve size and timing, compression ratio and turbo hot side
selection. Each of these needs to be addressed with your
performance expectations and budget in mind. That is; how these
work together will determine where in the operating range of your
engine will achieve max. VE (torque). Do your homework, you may
find that for many our turbo motors there is more to be gained
from improving VE than an IC change.
I assume the IC size you mentioned was a typo.

"Great! So from what I gather, my most important concern at this
point seems to be the intercooler and then more boost (with
proper fueling).
Then here is my next question. I got an intercooler core of about
18x3x2 to build and it is a bar and plate type so I figure it to
be real efficient. Now I feel that it may be too small. With the
point of view that the intercooler presents free bennifits, I may
do well to buy one of those NPR coolers or one of the starion
coolers.(they are big and cheap)
Is my intercooler core too small to worry about building? I plan
to use 15-17psi if the k24 can provide it efficiently. does
anyone have some real good and reasonable suggestions?
Thanks for the responses. Brandon Adams"
