Everything in the car is designed to work off of _really dirty car power_.
12v is the idea, but you can get huge swings in either directions,
spikes, and far from clean power when compared to normal in-house,
conditioned DC.
Do not worry. Anything destined for the car will be fine with the new
regulator.
