Audi 200 Headlight - Not Bright Enough

With the D.O.T headlamps you'll have to get full battery voltage to the
bulbs, to do this you'll have to upgrade the OE wiring (12 gauge minimum, in
my experience) and install relays (Bosch or Hella, no imitations). They
still won't be as bright as Euro H4\H3 but they will be brighter than OE.
Follow instructions on this site...

We all face the same problem with the OE lights installed on Audis\VWs,
especially 5000\200 models. I finally flipped the bill for Euro E-code
lamps and will never go back. I also ran the power over a fused 10-gauge
wire right off the back of the alternator to get a full 13.5 volts to the
relay. Running relays will also solve the problem with burnt headlamp
switches.
