FW: Audi 200 Headlight - Not Bright Enough

When I bought my 86 5KTQ about 3 years ago one of the headlights was missing
(minor collision contributing to very attractive purchase price) and the
other had a chip knocked out which let water in. The one that had water in
must have been that way a long time because the reflective coating inside
was mostly peeled off and while the lamp lit, it did not project much light.
I took the light off, cut it open with my Dremel tool, cleaned it up nicely
and spray painted it with chrome (not silver) paint. While I was in there,
I found the chip that had been knocked out and superglued it back in place
to seal the hole. Epoxied it back together and it has been working as well
as a DOT light can ever since. When it is off, it looks a bit darker than
the original DOT that I got for the other side. When it is on, I really
can't see a difference.
