4kq top speed & gears

I got a chuckle out of 140mph in a 4kq. Theoretically, then engine would be
turning well over 8k rpm at that point, that is if it had 200hp. Just last
week my relatively stock 87 4kq ran 116mph GPS Verified, going down a mild
hill. It was taching just about 6k RPM and totally out of steam. The turbo
motor I'm about to put in should be no better on the top end either, it will
just get there allot quicker. I'd love to hear about any gearing mods that
can be done on these cars. I'd rather have a lower 5th gear installed than
to have any diffs. swapped. Any ideas?
