Well, I don't buy new, new cars! I buy slightly used
new cars! :-)
I like to buy cars that are around 4 years old and
have under 40k miles on them. In the case of Audis
and BMWs, they're returned off of lease and with the
free maintenance programs I know the cars have had all
service done to them. I bought my '97 A4 in October
of 2000 with 35k miles on it.
Audi Assured adds another 2 years and 50,000 miles to
the bumper to bumper warranty. There is a $50
deductible, but considering some of the invoices I've
seen, I'm more than happy to pay it!
So I end up with a car that's had the majority of it's
depreciation over with, yet is still under warranty
for most, if not all of the time that I plan on owning
it.
