Blaupunkt Toronto RDM126 questions...

Hi fellow-listers,

About a month ago someone stole my beloved Blaupunkt RDM126 Toronto CD
player from my VW Golf. They didn't get the card, but I can safely
assume the thing has been ditched onto a scraphead somewhere as no-one
is calling in to request a card (well, they call in and ask how much a
new one will cost and then don't give serial numbers once they've heard
the price. I wish Bosch would change this to indicate they need the
serial number first to quote a price).

I have found a Toronto selling in the USA. I would like to try and buy
it and bring it to South Africa, but unfortunately the tuner for the USA
skips even channels (don't understand it myself, but that's what it
does) so it won't work properly for European and SA stations which go
along all the channels.

Now some questions:

1. is there a way to change the USA version of the RDM126 to work
according to European standards?
2. anyone selling a working RDM126 in Europe? SA seems to work on
European standards.

Yeah, I know, I can just get a newer unit, but I loved the old RDM126
and I still have a changer I want to hook up to it.
