I can..this tells me your ignition components - cap, rotor, or wires, are
breaking down in high humidity - does it pass the power wash test?
[I can't believe it.
Yesterday I'm driving and it dawns on me; this car is actually shifting
smooth!
(I had bought the fluids for a tranny change, doing it thursday)
And then today after work I walk outside and it's raining..and all I could
think about was the hour drive home with the car running like a POS...
It ran beautifully. Not a single problem. Like SILK.
Sometimes, I just don't get my car...
Perhaps it too has realized that the rallies are only a week and a half
away...and the quattro is getting excited too!?!
On a more serious note..thanks for the ideas gang...I'll see how many I can
chase down on thursday.
Hey Huw (or others), is dielectric grease similar/the same thing as
Stabilant?
I don't have the budget for stabilant...and was wondering about the tube of
dielectric grease I have...should I use that on all the connections?
I assume the procedure is clean, polish contacts with emery cloth, grease
and
assemble...

Yes - the dielectric will help if the components aren't shot.
