  Roof Rack (I hate them) removal is covered in the Bentley Manuals. I
believe it is under Accessories. Possibly Body/Exterior Accessories. I have
done it. Took some time to remove the clear plastic tape under the mounts.
Lighter fluid did it. The there are the holes. I found flat plugs (only in
black) which filled the holes at a body shop supply house. I sealed them with
silicone to be on the safe side. P.S., I have an '87 Avant (no turbo, no
quattro) body needs help but it runs like a clock and has a new belt. $235.00.
