You can write low mileage policies in America right now. I have one. You
don't need big brother's black box to do this. We already have a mileage
recording device in all of our cars. If they don't trust that, why should I
trust theirs.
I for one do NOT want any more government or Insurance company intervention
in my privately owned automobile. I also resent the prices I have to pay for
mandated explosive devices aimed at my head.
If others want it that's fine. No objection. These things, however, have a
strong likelihood of becoming law. The insurance lobby is well funded.
I remember being told that our big ugly US bumpers, and air bags would lower
our insurance rates. Indeed they charge you less than if you don't have them,
but I'll bet you cannot find anyone whose rates are lower since these devices
came on the scene.
As long as they allow me the "option," no problem.
