200 quattro Climate Control

Hi there,

Two days ago, out of the blue, my climate control
display disappeared along with any way of controlling
ventilation and temp. The screen has no read-out, just
black. The car is a 1985 UK spec 200 quattro. I have
checked the fuse and relay - both are OK. Can anyone
point me in the right direction on how to repair this.
I am sure it must have happened to someone...
