Hey gang,

Thanks for the help. Engine mounts are back in, all connectors have been
cleaned and greased with dielectric grease. Noticed that the connector next to
the WOT switch had moisture in it. The connector nearest the fuel distributor
had a little dirt in it...and other then that, I think it was all good.

The engine did survive the quick start while supported on an engine stand...it
sounds a slight bit different at the moment, but I suspect that's actually the
epoxied engine mounts causing everything to vibrate a little...not to mention I
was starting it with the car on four axle stands in a concrete garage...(door
open!)

As for Huw's suggestion that I should disconnect the battery _any_ time the car
is immobilized...I agree. However, I was pulling apart the dash to wire in
some lights...and wanted to be able to flip a switch and test that they work
while I was doing it.

Diff plug -> Hmmm...still stuck. Tried going both ways, and the head has
started to go a little now. I think the welding idea is the best, I still need
to decide if it's going to be a permanent thing (like Javad's), or a
temporary "get the plug out" fix. I'm going to top up the diff for now, and
decide after the rally. The fluid is dark brown inside, but doesn't smell
burnt...

Well, back outside...here's the list for _today_ (for those that care):

Re-Work skid plate.
Replace aux. reverse lamp relay...seal this one this time!
Replace high beam relay...seems flaky
Run two more sets of wires for Hella/PIAA rally lights
Pray that the alternator survives the two rallies...
Add external speedo/odometer to dash
Mount the laptop again
Replace various dash bulbs
Add switch lights for auxillary lighting switches
Run rear diff-lock vaccum lines to dash board...create some sort of manual
locking switch...
top-up and plug rear diff.
Spray some undercoat on all the places where rocks have torn away at Audi's
rubber protectant...

I love reading week!!
