2001 audi/VW shift boot removal.

Okay,

Here's the problem. I have a shift knob and boot out of a 2001 VW Jetta.  The
boot and knob are sold as one piece, but I need to remove the knob from the
boot...

I'm guessing it's similar to the A4 setup, so hopefully someone can give me a
BTDT on removing the boot from the knob.
