I think those cardboard spoilers were banned in F1 because they flexed too
much at high speed, giving less drag, but keeping downforce at lower speed.
Refrigerator box cardboard, of course, would have been perfect.

[Actually, I am hearing cardboard rear spoiler wings are the big hp upgrade
these days...they add the downforce without all the weight -hp increase of
about 5%, 8% in yellow.  Same goes for chicken wire when replacing all that
heavy expanded metal.
