Yeah, good point Huw.   I thought about adding that I have never
rebuilt a bottom end or whole motor.

I don't have the experience that some listers do, like with 'murkin
V8's or even VW air-cooled motors, or other past interests.  I've
never used that stuff you smash and measure to determine
clearance, ah yes, plastigage, I forgot the name.  Stuff like that I
understand in theory, but have no experience with.

I do want to get that experience.  Among being able to build my
own motor as a skill I'd like to have/acquire, I'd like to learn to paint
cars and do body work, and tig-weld.  That's a short list, I'm sure
there are others I forget right now.

It's setting myself up for an uphill battle, the learning curve.  But if
we are not learning, we may as well not get up in the morning, imo.

It's this darn internet with people doing turbo and efi conversions
left and right, like it's some kind of easy thing, that has gotten me
into such a disparity of intent and ability! :-P
