Ya know... this has been bugging me for almost a year now. I'd sit out oin
my 87 4kq for an hour in the pouring down rain looking to see why the rear
passenger side would fill up with water. It wasn't until I drove the car
into an automatic no-touch car wash that I found the problem. It appears
that the right rear 1/4 glass has a slow leak that is not visable unless you
really look hard. It would leak behind the rear seat and eventually find the
floor. I just found this out last week but have yet to fix it. At least I
found something! Anyway, if that's not your culprit, I've seen these cars
leak at the door panels when the plastic seal has broken (between the door
panel and the door frame), around the rubber gasket or even the rear sunroof
drains. If worse comes to worse, find a mechanic who has an ultrasonic leak
detector. Ours in on order, but these things seems to work wonders.
