Taka,
You 100% should try on a helmet before you buy it...but you don't necessarily
need to try on _THE_ helmet you're going to buy.
Huh?
All manufactuers build there helmets to a certain 'head mold', or head shape.
And, if your head fits one of their helmets, your 90% guaranteed to fit in
another one of their helmets of the same size.
For instance...I have a "Bell Head". I fit into a Medium or medium large
(depending on how they are breaking down sizes that model year) bell helmet. I
own four bicycle helmets, a motorcycle helmet (Fox...made by bell), and soon an
automotive helmet. I can walk into any store, pick the right size bell..and it
fits.
My navigator, Mike, does NOT have a bell head. He can't fit into ANY bell...
So my suggestion is this: Go to the motorcycle shop, try on a Bell and a Bieffe
helmet, and see if they fit well. If they do...your gamble on ordering an
automotive helmet made by the same company (without trying it on) is MUCH
smaller.
